About

Hey there!

Thanks for stopping  by. My name is Delia and I grew up in a little village, Zagavia, from Romania (Central East Europe),  knowing that each Sunday, and religious holiday, there should be a family gathering, where cooking was the main activity. Sure there was hanging around, talking about events, storytelling and sharing pieces of personal histories. But food, oh my oh my, the food is what I can taste and smell right now.

Freshly baked pies, ring biscuits, sour soups, stews, polentas- I liked to hang above all of them and let the steams caress my face. I was much lovable that way- I thought- hehe.

I cherish these moments: all the family together, gathering in the kitchen to help mama’s or grandma’s best recipe come to life, and show their love for cooking. Of course, most of us would be there just to taste the ingredients used to make the delish courses.

The most comfortable moments are these kind of moments. So why not elongate, and share them with you?  I will gather the traditional Romanian recipes, from most precious people in my life, savvy around the kitchen, cook them myself, and share the story behind the recipe, with a pinch of local, Romanian view.

I currently live in Bucharest, Romania, for a whole year now. It has been a big change for me, as I was used to visit the countryside more than I do now, and cook for my loving family. But I am surrounded by the love of my Alex, so it compensates quite well :), as I am cooking a lot for the two of us, and our friends who come to visit our beautiful, green terrace.

What I enjoy doing when I am not cooking, or sharing stories with you: DIY home crafts,  drawing, painting, reading about history of art, visiting art and history museums, discovering hidden gardens, old buildings with wonderful architecture, talking to my family, hearing about their daily “adventures”, watching weird movies with my Alex.

I can’t wait for you to delve into the richness of tasty, yummy, glorious traditional food I’ll set up for you. Long live moms and grandmas, right?

Welcome!

– DS
